History Collegiate Athletic began over a hundred years ago, in 1905, when the U.S. hosted the first international competition among the students. In 1919, Jean founded the Confederation Ptizhan students – under the auspices of the organization in 1923, the first World Games for students in Paris. Regularly Student Games held since 1959. The first Summer Universiade held in Turin – participated in the competition 965 young athletes from 45 countries who competed in seven sports. After more than half a century, Kazan will set the record for most sports at the Universiade. For the first time in the history of the games in the sports program of the Universiade 2013 included 27 sports at once.

Total for the Universiade will be drunk almost two tons of tea and more than three and a half tons of coffee.
