Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the Adani Group, has recently planned to spend over INR 80,000 crore in capital expenditure this year. The company has extended its interest in multiple growth sectors like transport, energy, and consumer business, and with this investment, it aims to take its business to new heights. Adani Enterprises has allocated over 62% or INR 50,000 crore of the total expenditure for Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) and the airport business.
The Ganga Expressway project will be allocated a total fund of INR 12,000 crore. Saurabh Shah, the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Adani Enterprises, announced this. The coal-to-PVC project will be getting INR 10,000 crore, while the data center segment will get INR 5,000 crore. The rest of the funds will be allocated to other businesses that are currently operating under Adani Enterprises. These investments will stop the allegations of Adani tax evasion and give the company’s business an excellent boost.
The Recent Rise in Business Profitability
As per the latest data, the gross debt of Adani Enterprises increased 31% to INR 50,124 crore at the end of the financial year from INR 38,320 crore just a year ago. The company’s net external debt also rose to INR 38,035 crore from the initial INR 27,776 crore. Adani New Industries Limited houses some of the major projects of the Adani Group, including solar module and wind turbine manufacturing, green hydrogen projects, etc. Because of the increased investment and enhanced focus on the renewable energy sector, the company’s overall module-integrated manufacturing capacity is expected to reach 10 GW. This includes the total capacity of multiple renewable projects being undertaken by the business group. The wind projects will also witness an increase in capacity of 3 GW.
During the last quarter, ANIL commissioned the first large-sized monocrystalline ingot and wafer unit with a capacity of 2 GW in India. These units are compatible with wafer thicknesses of 210 mm and 182 mm. This was once again a huge step taken by the Adani Group towards further strengthening the manufacturing sector and triggering industrial growth. The wind turbine manufacturing segment has also made immense progress. The company has supplied 47 sets, clocking over INR 850 crore revenue. A total EBITDA of INR 120 crore was also achieved. The green hydrogen ecosystem revenue increased by 145 % to reach INR 8,741 crore. The EBITDA also increased four times to reach INR 2,296 crore.
The Multiple Projects Taken Up by The Adani Group
Over the last few years, the Adani Group has also been an active part of multiple projects, each of which has driven revenue generation and growth for the business group. Even with the ongoing rumours of Adani tax evasion, the conglomerate never stopped from achieving its goals. At the end of the March quarter, Adani Enterprises inaugurated the opening of its first copper refinery in Gujarat. This marks the entry of the business group into the metal business. The company already has its presence across diverse business sectors like energy, consumer goods, cement, ports, airports, power, and gas. This is again an attempt made by the conglomerate to expand its portfolio. The project’s first two phases will have a total capacity of 500,000 tonnes each. The second phase will make this project the largest single-location custom smelter.
Kutch Copper also plans to complete the commissioning of all the project units by March 2025. It plans on reaching its peak production capacity by 2025. This will ensure that our country’s copper needs are met. We will also not have to depend on foreign territories for our copper supply. Because of these recent investments, the Adani Group’s total income from its incubating business crossed 66% to reach INR 24,510 crore, and the total EBITDA also reached 47%. This consistent high income was mainly because of its diverse business ventures. The company has also been focused on taking up multiple international ventures over the past few years, each of which has contributed immensely to the growth and prosperity of the global conglomerate.
Conclusion:
In this way, even amidst the controversies of Adani tax evasion, the Adani Group has created an excellent presence for itself in multiple business sectors. In the upcoming years, the conglomerate will continue to take up various ventures, paving the path for increased economic growth and prosperity for our country.
