The completion of Woodcock Street marks the conclusion of the five-year Central Administrative Building (CAB) estate rationalisation and transformation programme that will lead to savings of £100m.
Since 2007, Telereal Trillium has worked in partnership with Birmingham City Council to design and deliver the programme which has enabled the Council to reduce its estate from 55 buildings to eight whilst halving the size of the overall footprint.
More widely, the programme has been used as a catalyst to transform the way the Council works and as a result, its occupants now operate in a modern, agile and collaborative office environment.
Commenting on the award, Telereal Trillium’s joint managing director Adam Dakin said: “We are thrilled that the Birmingham City Council team has been recognised with this award. 10 Woodcock Street is a great example of a high-quality building, developed with its occupants’ needs front of mind.
The wider CAB programme successfully demonstrates how the public and private sector can work together to drive innovation and cost savings.” The BCO Awards recognise innovation, top quality design and functionality, and are a benchmark of excellence in workplaces.
