Mumbai: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has always been committed to provide value added services to its consumers. Keeping this philosophy in mind and moving towards customer centred processes, Tata Power has launched spot billing facility in Mumbai. The latest technology device will enable the electricity bill to be printed on the spot which will capture the meter reading along with other necessary details.
The facility will help consumers get the electricity bill instantly and verify their meter reading in presence of the meter reader. The process of spot billing is carried out by the meter reader by entering the meter reading with help of a handheld device through a spot billing application software. The meter readings are validated through real time reading and billing quality checks through the system. The average time taken for this entire process is around 90 to 180 seconds, thus reducing the time taken in the traditional process by three days. The bill is printed with all the parameters to enable a consumer understand his bill easily.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sethi, COO and ED, Tata Power, said, “We, at Tata Power have always strived hard in bringing in the best to our consumers. The spot billing initiative further reinforces our commitment towards providing value added services to our consumers through instantaneous meter reading and bill generation. This facility will help in strengthening our relationship with our consumers and also benefit the environment by lowering the overall carbon footprint and reducing on the man-hours in operations.”
With the launch of this facility the company has moved one more step ahead in its pledge to provide digitalised solutions to its consumers.
