The Forum is to be a platform of open debate between business entities and central government as well as local government institutions. Meetings within the Forum will be arranged cyclically, twice a year, in Sopot as meetings supporting the European Financial Congress and in Kaliningrad.
“Dialogue and Business: Poland – Russia” Forum, which took place from 26 to 27 June 2013 has been organized under the slogan “Neighbour – Partner – Investor”. Issues concerning exchange of experiences and good practices in investments, infrastructure and safety and security in the context of preparations of Russia to organize the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Poland’s experience from Euro 2012 were the grounds for discussions.
The agenda for the Poland – Russia Forum included debates on financial safety of foreign transactions, business internationalization as well as recipes for organizational, business and image success connected with organization of an international sports event. Debates, discussion panels and meetings arranged within the Forum were attended by many representatives of Russian business as well as representatives of administration and local government authorities.
The Instruments of Financing and Financial Safety of Foreign Transactions meeting was presided over Pavel Dange, the member of Supervisory Board of Bank Pekao. Among participants were Carlo Marini – Executive Vice President Global Head of Group Client Internationalizations, UniCredit SPA, Andrzej Kopyrski – Vice President of Bank Pekao SA’s Management Board and Julia Petrova – Head of GTB Department UniCredit Russia.
The aim of the debate was to increase in awareness of opportunities to take advantage of financial instruments to hedge transactions made between business partners from various countries and presentation of tools that promote development of partner economic relationships between entrepreneurs from Poland and Russia.
The tradition and achievement of the European Financial Congress is announcement at the end of debates of Recommendations, which indicate practical solutions in the most important areas for the common development of economy of the European Union and Poland. Those Recommendations are produced pro publico bono, and their implementation is supported with expert opinions and media initiatives.
