MEISSEN COUTURE® surprised and delighted about 160 journalists, more than 40 buyers and numerous VIPs of Milan society with a mixture of romantic creations, retro styles, and a mystical musical presentation in the courtyard of Villa Meissen, which had been designed in the style of an Italian pleasure garden for the occasion.
The 17 dresses by MEISSEN COUTURE® chief designer Frida Weyer – inspired by original drawings and figurines in the MEISSEN® archives – were a skilful mix of traditional elements, outstanding craftsmanship and timeless, classic and yet completely fresh designs.
Many of the guests agreed that this presentation was one of the definite highlights of this year’s Milan Fashion Week.
‘This important presentation in Milan marks our successful entry into the couture market’, says Christian Kurtzke, MEISSEN’s CEO. ‘Now the goal is to further intensify our numerous international contacts to the top buyers of the important luxury department stores and develop the distribution of our new brand world.’
With couture, the jewellery creation and the MEISSEN HOME® programme, MEISSEN® is increasingly positioning itself as a luxury and life style brand, thus accelerating its international expansion. According to analysts, MEISSEN® today is one of the top 10 German luxury brands.
