Chosen by a Group-wide colleague vote, the partnership had hoped to raise at least £2million across the two years to fund ‘Live Well’ – the leading dementia charity’s first UK-wide support programme for people with dementia and their carers. This pioneering support service is about to launch in over a hundred locations across the UK, providing life-changing guidance covering topics such as coping with challenging behaviour, communication and legal and financial information.
Graham Lindsay, Group Director, Responsible Business at Lloyds Banking Group said: ‘Almost half the population knows someone with dementia, so it comes as no surprise how keen colleagues across Lloyds Banking Group have been, not just to fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Scotland, but also to find out more about the condition and how it affects people.
‘During our Tea and Talk events back in May for Dementia Awareness Week, which took place across the vast majority of communities, thousands of colleagues spent quality time with customers, having a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and a chat about their own personal experiences of dementia. Not only are we really proud to be funding the ‘Live Well’ programme, but we’re also proud to be shining a light on a condition that affects 800,000 people across the UK.’
