KLM has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with top Dutch golfer Joost Luiten. The contract linking KLM to Joost Luiten was signed today.
Joost Luiten (27) has been a professional golfer since 2006 and, currently occupying 62nd place in the Official World Golf Ranking, he is the highest ranked Dutch golfer ever. He won twice in the European Tour: the Iskandar Johor Open in Malaysia in 2011 and the Lyoness Open last June in Austria. He is ranked among Europe’s Top 20 players. Joost Luiten is currently the Ambassador for the KLM Open.
KLM has long been an enthusiastic supporter of the golf sport and sees its sponsorship of Joost Luiten as another step towards deepening its active level of involvement in the sport. KLM has been the title sponsor of the KLM Open since 2004. With this sponsorship initiative, KLM hopes to make an important contribution to Joost’s position in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Harm Kreulen, Managing Director KLM Netherlands: “KLM is proud of its Dutch roots. This is expressed in many aspects of our products and services. Sponsoring Joost, the best golfer heralding from the Netherlands, ties in well with this. We are proud to be associated with Joost in his drive to improve his international ranking as a top golfer. Given his present condition, we are confident that he will perform well at the highest international level, as well as serving as a great inspiration for all golf enthusiasts in the Netherlands.”
