Bigger than ever
2013 marks the fifth Forgotten 10 Challenge and all the signs point to it being bigger and better than ever. Last year, local clubs, groups and schools organised fantastic events in over 40 towns and cities with more than 10,000 people taking part. Soroptimist International Skipton-in-Craven hosted Our ‘Dare You Walk the Path?’ exhibition, and groups including Brighton Quaker Meeting held a range of events across the ten days. In several town centres, clubs built special Pyramids of Shoes to represent all the people that have lost lives and limbs to landmines and cluster bombs, and hundreds of people added their name to a letter calling on the Government of Cambodia to sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions.
No more victims
More than 70% of the victims of landmine and cluster bombs are civilians, 40% of whom are children. This December we will be coming together to say ‘No more victims’. Thousands of school students are expected to take part, and teachers from Devon to the Orkney Islands have been in touch to tell us about their plans for special assemblies, lessons and whole school events.

Support the forgotten victims of the Syria crisis
The Syria crisis is spiralling out of control, claiming the lives and limbs of thousands of innocent civilians. Explosive weapons, including banned cluster munitions, have been used indiscriminately and will remain a threat long after the conflict ends.
This year we are asking supporters to take action to support the victims of the Syria crisis. We hope that thousands will join us in calling on the UK government to ensure that UK aid reaches the thousands of injured and disabled people who are struggling to access the help that they desperately need.
