Applicable to all subsidiaries in France, this agreement is part of a human resources policy for a triple objective: to strengthen the actions of recruitment and training involved for many years in favor of youth, continue the momentum since 2009 on employment and careers of seniors, and better address the challenges of imparting skills in an economic environment increasingly demanding.
The signatories of the agreement contract generation and want to continue and expand affirmative action for employment and career management of employees over 50 years, engaged since the previous agreement of 2009 Seniors. The Group reaffirms its commitments in terms of permanent hires, training and job retention. Thus, the proportion of recruitment of employees aged 50 and over in CDI will be 6% over the period 2013-2015.
The transmission of knowledge and skills between generations will be supported by the development periods of retirement and encouraging the formation of young people. The agreement contract generation and creates a new system for employees over 55 who choose to spend their last years of employment in the training of young people. They will benefit from a reduction in their working time by 20% without any impact on their remuneration.
GDF SUEZ is one of the companies hiring the most in France. Including hiring planned under contract generation, the Group plans to recruit 20 000 CDI 2015, focusing on technical trades.

On this occasion, Mestrallet, CEO of GDF SUEZ, said: “GDF SUEZ has for many years an active policy for employment. By signing this agreement, we pledge to continue and strengthen our efforts in this area, including the recruitment of young people. GDF SUEZ is working to achieve its objectives and also launched a major operation on October 12 at 40 sites in France to present its business and employment opportunities offered by the Group.”
