This new delivery confirms the ambition of GDF SUEZ on high-growth markets, particularly in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East: being a reliable supplier of LNG to enable the Group to develop strong relationships for all its activities. The Group plans to deliver between 2010 and 2016 around 10.8 million tonnes of LNG to major energy players in Asia (KOGAS, CNOOC, Petronas, Petronet, PTT and GAIL). GDF SUEZ is one of the few European companies with the flexibility of natural gas supply portfolio enables it to deliver large volumes towards these markets.
GDF SUEZ is one of the leaders of the LNG market in the world and the first importer in Europe. The Group has an extensive and diverse portfolio of sources of LNG, accounting for 16 million tonnes per year. It operates a fleet of 17 LNG carriers and has a significant presence in regasification terminals in the world. During the first half of 2013, GDF SUEZ LNG cargoes delivered mainly in Europe and Asia, but also in the Americas. To extend its supply portfolio, the Group is engaged in the development of three LNG plants projects: Cameron LNG project in the United States, Bonaparte LNG in Australia and Cameroon LNG.
