Concluded for a three-year term, the partnership provides for :
- Training for Red Cross personnel: in each département of France, EDF will train members of the Red Cross in energy savings and the energy-related aid that is already in place. EDF will also provide them with a dedicated telephone line so that they can quickly contact EDF’s social responsibility advisors.
- The development of an information system: more than just providing material assistance, the French Red Cross will be able to provide people in difficulty with information about the help that is available to reduce their energy bills (explanation of social tariffs and renovation programmes, issue of brochures produced by EDF). It will advise them on the steps they can take and help them to come up with solutions for paying their energy bills, in partnership with social services and EDF’s social responsibility teams.
- Personal energy analysis: EDF will offer those who receive support from the French Red Cross a personal analysis of their energy situation (checking that the customer’s contract is appropriate to their use, effective advice on reducing energy expenditure, etc.).
