DLD Founder and Managing Director Steffi Czerny: “With our global DLD conference platform, we always have our finger on the pulse of the prospering digital scene, which allows us to connect our DLD community directly with global key decision-makers. Israel and its innovative start-up network play a crucial role in these efforts. It is not a coincidence that this is where the idea for the international innovation platform was born as early as 1999, at the event ‘Cool People in the Hot Desert’. This is why I am particularly delighted to welcome our guests to the start-up hub Tel Aviv for the third time.”
The DLD Conference in Tel Aviv hosted by Hubert Burda Media is Israel’s leading international high-tech and innovation conference, which brings together hundreds of start-ups, venture capital companies, business angels and global players in Israel’s ‘Silicon Wadi’. Thanks to the fact that several hundred start-ups are founded here every year, Israel ranks second worldwide, following only the Silicon Valley.
Google, IBM, Microsoft, Telekom and others have invested in large research centers here; the country is famous for high-tech innovations, which are a result of Israel’s excellent research and development infrastructure. In 2012, Hubert Burda Media also invested in the Israeli Venture Capital Fond lool Ventures. Israel boasts the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies following the US and Canada.
One of the world’s leading ‘digital nations’, Israel is becoming increasingly interesting also for German companies. This is why the roster of approx. 1,500 international participants at the festival includes more than 150 creative minds, entrepreneurs, investors and scientists from Germany.
Co-Chairman Yossi Vardi: „Israel’s hi-tech sector is one of the most advanced in the world. Israel has become a major player in this field, taking on a world leadership position in this industry. A major element of this conference is the start-up forum which provides a unique opportunity for young Israeli and European start-ups to present themselves to the conference’s international audience, to create new contacts and expand their networks for fostering future cooperation and exchange of resources and ideas.”
