1888 Press Release – CoreTechnologie launches newest version of 3D printing software with new features and vastly improved features.
Southfield, Michigan – Software manufacturer CoreTechnologie launches a new version of its additive manufacturing software; 4D_Additive. The 3D printing tool, which is equipped with new features that are specifically dedicated to meet the increased demands of small batch production of 3D printed parts.
The software follows the philosophy of a standardized open system and thus offers a solution for all processes with extensive possibilities for individual customization. The graphical user interface (GUI) is easy to use and presents the workflow for preparing 3D parts for additive manufacturing in the form of sequential workshops.
The new version: 1.3; additionally, provides an application programming interface (API) for Hewlett Packard and Photocentric machines enabling a seamless and time-saving process to send the computer-generated slicing data directly to the printer.
Another highlight is the vastly improved texture module, which can be used to quickly and easily enhance the surfaces of CAD models as well as STL bodies with various surface textures with the ability to apply custom texture designs. There are also over 5,000 predefined patterns to choose from. Logos, text, and QR codes can be generated as well as incremental part IDs can be applied on the printed parts.
Specifically for powder bed machines, nesting functions have been upgraded to ensure fast and thermally optimized filling of the build space. The new version uses AI algorithms to selectively fill free areas in the build space to ensure consistent and precise slice areas of the individual layers.
To meet the demands of customers, CoreTechnologie added multi-core thread processing resulting in a huge time reduction for calculations. It is possible to prepare the nesting of parts manually and to optionally define the degrees of freedom of each individual part around the X, Y, and Z-axis.
The new position correction function for SLS and SLM parts serves to avoid surface defects caused by zig-zag movements of the laser on the bottom and top slice layer of the parts. For manual positioning, the new version offers an intelligent power-copy function using a voxel representation of the models for high packing density.
An automatic repair function for scanned data delivers closed and homogeneous STL models in the shortest possible time. The functions for cutting CAD and STL models have also been extensively revised, with new various joining patterns such as pins and grooves.
Production Process for all formats
The software reads all CAD formats with exact geometry and tessellated formats e.g., CATIA, NX, SOLIDWORKS, Creo, STEP, .STL, .3mf and .Amf. Dimensions, tolerances, views, as well as all attributes and design elements from the CAD data, are also displayed. The results of the pre-production process can be saved as .STL, .3mf, .Amf or even as an exact STEP model. After the multiprocessor-based slicing formats e.g., Sli, Slm and Slc as well as jpg and png bitmaps or Svg vector graphics can be saved.
CoreTechnologie, the innovative software manufacturer, with locations in Germany, France, the USA, Japan and Great Britain was founded in 1998, to provide CAX software solutions across wide-ranging industries. Each year, CT invests more than 30 percent of sales revenue back into research and development of new cutting-edge technology. The company consistently optimizes its product portfolio and continues to secure technological leadership in the area of conversion software.
CoreTechnologie’s portfolio is comprised of more than 600 companies and millions of users worldwide from the automotive, aerospace, engineering, and consumer goods industry who are, often, the quality leaders in their respective segments. With four outstanding products and pioneering technology, CoreTechnologie is the only provider of interoperability 3D printing software that develops all products in-house and thus independent from any third-party components and technology.
