Citi launches 7 social programs in Russia

The program to improve financial literacy will focus on teaching students the 6 regional universities, who will join the pilot courses developed in the framework of the National Program to improve the financial literacy of the population by the Ministry of Finance. There will also be organized the first place in Russia in the format of the conference to exchange experience in the field of financial literacy among local and international actors.

The three programs on entrepreneurship development include: conducting the ninth annual All-Russian contest “Citi Foundation Prize in the field of micro-enterprises”, the continuation of the training course on social entrepreneurship with the Graduate School of Management (GSOM), St. Petersburg State University Graduate School of Management and dissemination of methodologies in other universities, and encouraging entrepreneurship among people living in remote regions of the country: the Altai and Kamchatka.

Two programs will be implemented in the field of education and employment of socially disadvantaged youth. The first program is designed for students of vocational schools and helps them learn how to present themselves in the labor market. The second – a mentoring program (support), is designed for children from families with difficult financial situation and orphans and is designed to help them pull up your school knowledge, pass an exam and enroll in universities and colleges.

As a pilot project for the employment of young people with disabilities started in Ryazan: it is planned to hold a series of activities for both young people and potential employers.

Citi Foundation’s partners in these programs are: the Center for Economic and Financial Research, Graduate School of Management, Russian Microfinance Center, World Wildlife Fund, a charitable foundation “United Way” Regional Public Organization of Disabled People “Perspective”, the foundation of social development and health ” Focus Media. ”

The purpose of this series of programs is to improve the well-being of society through the promotion of economic development of the regions of Citi, as well as the promotion of standards effective financial activity among low-income population.
