Back pain is a common medical condition, which can become extremely painful and unbearable, if not treated in time. The pain can severely impact a person’s ability to perform even the most basic daily activities. If you are suffering from basic, acute or chronic back pain, you must immediately consult an experienced back pain specialist for effective and timely treatment.
Dr. Richard Burg is a Frisco, TX based spine surgeon specializing in hands-on treatment for upper, middle and lower back pain. The orthopedic doctor holds a dynamic approach in diagnosing the cause of back pain and formulating the treatment plan accordingly.
Back pain conditions treated by Dr. Burg include:
- Spinal Stenosis
- Kinked Neck
- Pinched Nerve
- Whiplash
- Congenital Scoliosis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Abnormal Curvature of the Spine
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Fractures of the Vertebral Bones
Dr. Burg prefers to use a non-surgical approach to treat his patients. Depending upon the symptoms, he may prescribe certain anti-inflammatory medications to provide relief from debilitating pain and soreness. The patients may also be asked to apply heat or ice at the affected area as this allows the constricted muscles to relax and helps in reducing pain.
Dr. Burg recommends surgical treatment only in severe cases where some underlying orthopedic condition is the cause of back pain. He has extensive experience in performing minimally invasive surgery to effectively treat various medical conditions of the back and spine.
