This one-time running event was held on the U.N. International Day of Peace and celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the Peace Palace in The Hague. The symbolic first stone was laid in 1907, and construction of the Peace Palace was completed in 1913.
With a Global Terminal Network of ports and inland services employing 20,000 employees in 68 countries, APM Terminals is a leader in global trade and logistics. “Our commitment to Lifting Global Trade can only be met by a global economy that continues to embrace a world that is ever more interconnected and collaborative. That is why it is so important for us to celebrate this meaningful anniversary for peace,” stated APM Terminals CEO Kim Fejfer.
Earlier this year, APM Terminals relocated its global headquarters to The Hague‟s downtown business center in the famous De Kroon building. “This has been a significant year for APM Terminals because we can now call The Hague „our home.‟ The Hague has a remarkable history and we‟re very proud to now participate in this historic milestone,” added Fejfer. In addition to the APM Terminals 10K Run, the event included a 1.5, 2.5 and 5K run, each of which took runners around the Peace Palace.
