- Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company understands its responsibility towards the welfare of society. It has always strived to improve the lives of its stakeholders and communities surrounding its business operations. In line with this commitment, the CSR team of Dherand Tata Power Project (DTPP) organised a felicitation program for SSC pass students from Dherand and Shahapur villages at Adarsh Vidyamandir High School. Further, it also distributed educational kits to 146 girl students from 5th to 10th class under the Government of Maharashtra sponsorship scheme called Savitri Bai Phule Dattak Palak Yojana (SBPDPY) at the event.
The objective of this initiative was to honour the students who passed their SSC examinations successfully while encouraging other students to take their studies seriously. Tata Power’s CSR team at Dherand has been supporting Adarsh Vidyamandir School for quantitative and qualitative improvement in education system at village level since 2013. This effort has resulted in the school consistently achieving above 95 percent pass result in SSC exam. Continuing its encouraging run of positive results Adarsh Vidyamandir School secured a passed percentage of 95.12 percent this year.

We firmly believe that education is the best way of bringing about holistic change in society. We are proud to partner with Adarsh Vidymandir High School in furthering the cause of education in Dherand and Shahapur Villages.”
The facilitation and distribution ceremony was attended by key functionaries including Chitra Patil, Sabhapati, FINANCE and PWD, Bharti Thale, member of Panchyat Samiti, Alibag, Sudheer Thale, Sarpanch of Group Gram Panchayat, Shahapur and other members of the Group Gram Panchayat. Tata Power’s efforts in supporting the students of Adarsh Vidyamandir School were appreciated by the leaders of the local community.
