More success for SSE Next Generation

Thomas Hamer won a silver medal at the Games and has added another piece of silverware to his collection, setting a new personal best in the S14 200m freestyle at the IPC European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven. Shop Direct celebrates 20 years of online shopping


On 11th August 1994, the world’s first secure ecommerce transaction took place, with a Sting CD selling in the States to the value of $12.48. SSE Airtricity creating 143 jobs


SSE Airtricity is Northern Ireland’s second largest energy provider, supplying greener electricity and natural gas to over 300,000 homes and businesses across the country. Since 2008 SSE has invested half a billion pounds in the development of Northern Ireland’s sustainable energy infrastructure. Arqiva: Manchester’s WiFi network grows

Barclays: Boom time for UK beauty businesses


The proliferation of businesses in the beauty industry, which include beauty salons, hairdressers and tanning parlours, contributes £4bn to the UK economy. Halifax: Coming to America: UK consumers spending more on credit cards in USA than any other country
