Telecommunication continues to lead the way


The Telecommunication (Telco) market was the only sector within Western Europe with overall significant growth rates. Driven by the ongoing smartphone boom, sales grew at double digit rates. Eurozone recovering faster than expected


Finland and Germany recorded the highest growth of 0.7 percent. However, there was also good news for Portugal, which, despite recent social unrest and political turmoil over its bailout programme, saw its economy grow by 1.1 percent. Atos wins contract for the second most powerful supercomputer in Spain

Investing in Spain’s electricity grid: EIB signs loan contract with Iberdrola


The loan will co-finance a comprehensive investment programme designed to reinforce and modernise Iberdrola’s electricity distribution network. easyJet predicts biggest summer holiday exodus yet with nine million due to fly out of UK on the airline this summer


EasyJet, the UK's largest airline, will see almost nine million flying out of the UK this summer (between mid July and the end of September) with five and a half million of them travelling over the school summer holidays. S7 and Iberia launch codeshare flights to Canaries


S7 passengers can now travel from Moscow, via a convenient connection in Madrid, to La Palma, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. The new flights commenced on 1 June 2013. The flights will be via Airbus A320 aircraft from the S7 and Iberia fleets, with both economy and business class cabins. Madrid Airport is one of the hubs of the oneworld alliance.
