Lufthansa regains place as Europe’s biggest airline from Ryanair

The Lufthansa group as a whole carried 130 million passengers last year, it said on Wednesday. From March 1st Carsten Wirths will be the new Managing Director and Labour Director at Lufthansa CityLine GmbH with headquarters in Munich. The decision was taken by the Board of Directors of the Lufthansa Group Company. In his function, Wirths is responsible for all commercial aspects, the IT sector, as well as HR management for approximately 2,200 employees. Lufthansa Group achieves record number of passengers in 2015


The airlines of the Lufthansa Group transported 107.7 million passengers in 2015, which is a new record. The Group carried 1.6 per cent more passengers than in the previous year. At the same time the company carried out more than one million flights and achieved the highest ever seat load factor of 80.4 per cent.
