- Silio Aparicio has joined independent derivatives advisory firm Riverside Risk Advisors ("Riverside") as a Managing Director. Previously, Aparacio was a Director at BNP Paribas in New York and Lead Manager of commodity derivative sales and origination for corporate and government institutions in Latin America. He developed commodity-linked transactions for the bank, specializing in energy, metals and soft commodities. He also provided extensive structuring expertise to clients of the bank in the area of prepays, inventory finance and structured finance linked hedging. Aparicio oversaw the commodities derivatives business across five Latin American countries including Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
Prior to joining BNP Paribas in 2007, Aparicio was a Vice President at JPMorgan in the London-based Commodity Investments Group. He was responsible for structuring, pricing and executing FX and commodity derivatives in the European, Asian and Middle East markets to the bank’s institutional investor clients.
“Silio brings considerable depth of expertise in commodity derivatives and Latin American finance to Riverside, allowing us to expand the breadth of our hedge advisory services to a broader range of clients as well as existing clients,” stated Joyce Frost, Co-Founder and Partner at Riverside.
Jonathan Landais also recently joined Riverside as an Associate. Landais was previously in the Leveraged Finance group at Société Générale in New York and London where he contributed to the structuring and underwriting of the bank’s debt financings for private equity sponsored LBOs. Prior to Société Générale, Landais was in Paris in the M&A Group at Edmond de Rothschild and Exane Derivatives, an affiliate of BNP Paribas where he was part of the leading convertible bond research team in Europe.
Frost added, “We are also very pleased to attract top young talent to Riverside. Jonathan is a great new member of the Riverside team and his knowledge of the Term Loan B market as well as private equity sponsor financing is very complimentary to our core business of advising clients on hedging rate risk associated with these financings.”
