The key ingredients of new mobile gadgets created by Promwad are specialized miniature sensors, low power consuming microcontrollers, and collection of measurement data synchronized with iOS and Android smartphones.
One of the demanded directions in the work of the company is the development of new devices for users’ health monitoring, within Health 2.0 trend, it means that users themselves can take preventive measures, monitoring and diseases diagnostics. The example of such gadgets are glucose gauges to measure glucose concentration in the blood, radiation monitors, humidity gauges, radiometers, meters of nitrates in food products and heart rate measurers.
In the process of mobile devices development, Promwad engineers choose an optimal technology for their integration with a smartphone:
1. Via power and data communication connectors – microUSB, Lightning and a 30-pin Apple connector, through which a gadget receives not only information, but the power as well.
2. Via wireless interfaces – NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth that allow using the gadget remotely from the smartphone and match any type of device.
3. Via audio jack – one of the most promising options of gadget connection to a smartphone due to its low cost, popularity of the connector for enclosures and PCBs, protocol flexibility and universality.

Glucometer: blood sugar testing
The engineers of Promwad have developed a new product for their customer, а glucose gauge that is paired with Android and iOS based smartphones via a standard audio jack. The device shows blood test results on the screen of a mobile application, it is synchronized with a cloud to generate reports and recommendations for doctors and patients. The glucose meter does not have any analogs on the territory of the CIS and stands out on the world market, because it is adapted for two mobile platforms.

Lapka, a set of sensors for an iPhone
Upon the order of Lapka startup, industrial designers and engineers of Promwad have developed enclosure structures, a pilot batch was produced and they prepared for mass production the following devices: a nitrate gauge, a radiometer, an electromagnetic fields gauge and a humidity sensor. Those devices were sold in the USA, Canada and Russia. Last year Lapka startup was acquired by Airbnb, an apartment rental and travel company that needs no introduction.
ZIVE: smart radiation monitor
ZIVE is a smart radiation monitor with a user-friendly interface and professional-level features. It searches for a radiation source, measures radiation background, and calculates the radiation dose. The device is paired with a smartphone via BLE.
