Marise Voskens will be the new Chair of the Board. Voskens has extensive experience in industry and is actively involved in a number of social and cultural organisations in Amsterdam. She also chairs the Supervisory Board of the VPRO broadcasting corporation and for the past ten years she has worked as an Amsterdam District Court judge.
Pauline Meurs, professor of Health Care Governance and Chair of the Council for Health and Society, has been appointed as a Board member. She is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Academic Medical Center (AMC-UvA).
The fourth member, who enjoys the special confidence of the advisory bodies, is current member Gerard Mols. He was appointed in May 2013 on the recommendation of the advisory bodies and is prepared to stay on as a member of the new Board for the time being.
The new members of the Supervisory Board will be appointed for the usual term of four years. All parties involved have agreed that they will take stock of the situation after the first year, at which point the advisory bodies will be consulted, to see whether the evaluation of the cooperation between the UvA and AUAS and the results of the Decentralisation and Democratisation Committee give cause for changes to the profile and composition of the Supervisory Board.
