- Lufthansa aircraft of type MD-11 will now land in Barcelona at 5pm on 15th June 2015 - Transfer of the coffins to the relatives of the victims is now planned to take place on 15th and 16th June.
The special flight transferring the victims of 4U9525 to Spain is being brought forward in order to further cater to the interests and requests of relatives of the victims. The aircraft of the type MD-11 will now leave Marseilles at 3:45pm on 15th June rather than its initial time of departure of 7:45pm. It is therefore expected to land in Barcelona at 5pm.
The flight is likely to transport a total of 30 coffins mostly containing Spanish victims of flight 4U9525. These coffins will now be transferred to the relatives of the victims on the evening of 15th June and on 16th June. The transfer of the remaining victims from Spain will fulfil the wishes of relatives of the victims by also involving the transfer of some coffins to other Spanish destinations.
The return of the victims to their home countries will be continued over the coming weeks and is expected to be fully completed at the end of June 2015.
Lufthansa and Germanwings are in close contact with the relatives of the victims in order to ensure that the transfer of the victims is carried out according to their relatives’ concrete wishes.
