- An elite community of young entrepreneurs, leaders and gamechangers from across Europe will gather in Amsterdam, 5-7th September, 2018
Forbes announced today that it will be hosting the first-ever Forbes Under 30 Summit Europe in Amsterdam, on 5-7th September 2018.
Building from the success of the Under 30 Summit EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), which has taken place in Israel for the past two years, the European edition of the franchise will bring together around 300 of the region’s most influential young changemakers, as culled from the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe lists.
The Under 30 Summit Europe represents a new regional chapter for the iconic franchise, following the flagship Under 30 Summit in the US and regional Under 30 Summits in Asia and EMEA. Earlier this year it was announced that Forbes would be hosting an Under 30 Summit Global (taking place May 6-9 in Israel), bringing together Under 30s from across the world.
“Ever since we launched the first 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2016, we knew that we wanted to hold a dedicated Summit to bring together the talent that we’ve found across the region,” said Randall Lane, editor of Forbes and Chief Content Officer at Forbes Media. “We’ve been working closely with the City of Amsterdam over the past months and are thrilled to announce that the Under 30 Summit Europe will be taking place here in September. A city widely known for its spirit of innovation, diversity, and welcoming culture; this unique business climate is the ideal backdrop for our incredible group of young leaders to come together to share ideas and experiences.”
The Under 30 Summit Europe will feature a packed agenda of panels, interviews, performances and keynotes from some of the world’s most successful business leaders, entrepreneurs and disruptors. Partners supporting the Summit include Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, Startup Amsterdam and The Student Hotel.
Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, Special StartUp Envoy, said of the announcement: “We are very pleased that Forbes chose to host the first European edition of the 30Under30 in Amsterdam. Amsterdam and the Netherlands are home to a growing and lively community of startups. We look forward to welcoming Forbes and its unique and inspiring 30Under30 community and connect them with young and creative entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. Together we can shape the future and find startup solutions for global challenges.”
Ruben Nieuwenhuis, Director of StartupAmsterdam and Chair of the International Advisory Board, Amsterdam Metropolitan Region, Economic Board, commented on the partnership: “StartupAmsterdam is proud to partner with Forbes and it’s 30Under30 community. The entire startup and tech scene in Amsterdam is looking forward to meeting these change makers and industry leaders from around the world. Amsterdam has been defining what’s next for centuries; welcome to the birthplace of the first trade-able stock, the first multinational, Bluetooth, python and WiFi. Making new connections enable us to take the next steps in innovation. Let’s connect!”
Partnering with Forbes as the main host location for the summit, CEO and Founder of The Student Hotel, Charlie MacGregor, said: “It is amazing that we can welcome Forbes and the European 30Under30 members to The Student Hotel in Amsterdam. The synergies between our own entrepreneurial student community, our starts-ups and co-workers as well as all our guests who share the student spirit is perfect. This event will inspire a whole new generation to work hard and fight for their dreams and, hopefully, to come and do it all in Amsterdam and the rest of Holland!”
The Under 30 Summit Europe announcement comes on the day the franchise launches it 2018 30 Under 30 Europe list (https://www.forbes.com/30-under-30-europe/2018) and is part of the wider expansion of Forbes into the European market, following the successful launch of the CMO Summit Europe, which took place in November 2017.
