Heavy snow disrupts road, air travel in northern Europe

Gucci under investigation for tax evasion by Italian authorities

Gucci, Italy’s greatest fashion success story and a brand whose renaissance has become a model the whole industry wants to emulate, is being investigated as perhaps among the country’s biggest tax evaders. The Italian tax police searched the Gucci Hub, the 377,000-square-foot campus in Milan that is home to more than 250 employees, last week, as well as Gucci’s offices in Florence. Uber’s top dealmaker in Europe steps down

Fraser Robinson, who led Uber’s $3.5bn investment deal with Saudi Arabia last year, will step down this month from his role as head of business development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will continue working with Uber as an adviser, according to a company-wide email obtained by the Financial Times. Strong Lineup of Crossovers and Utilities Drove GM’s U.S. June Sales

General Motors (NYSE: GM) today reported June U.S. retail sales of 202,908 vehicles, down about 3 percent from the same period last year. However, in the fastest growing U.S. retail market segment, GM’s crossover retail sales were up 23 percent, due largely to the strength of Chevrolet Equinox, which were up 36 percent.  Buick’s U.S. retail sales were up 6 percent.
