The BMW Summer School 2018 was jointly set up in cooperation with the Franco-German University (UFA), EURECOM, Technical University of Munich (TUM) and BayFrance under the umbrella of the German French Academy for the Industry of the Future by TUM and the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom). A flying sculpture of 300 luminous Intel Shooting Star drones in bird swarming formation will be on view for three days after sunset, from August10 – 12, 2018. Illuminating the river IJ in Amsterdam, the performative art work is part of the retrospective “Studio Drift: CODED NATURE”, on display at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam until August 26, 2018. Audi Environmental Foundation turns plastic waste into recreation areas

To create the park, the project partner filtered plastic waste out of the New Meuse River with the aid of specially designed collecting basins. The waste was then sorted and made into floating plastic islands. The landscaped islands now serve as recreation areas for port visitors and residents.
